Assignment #5 – 11/9/25

This assignment called for the use of an element to create multiple landscapes. In the end, I went through a trove of images from Adobe Stock and came across the image of a road that gave me an idea.

It made me think of the song “Highway to Hell”, and I found a picture of a Hellscape on Adobe Stock that worked perfectly. I layered the road onto the Hellscape with a dissolve blend and left it at that, as the coloring, perspective, and overall feel seemed right as it was.

On the flipside to the previous image, I then thought of the old TV show “Highway to Heaven”. For that, I used an Adobe Stock photo of a sunset with a gradient layer and hue blending mode to more clearly define the horizon and change the coloring of the road.

For the final image, I used a photo of the night sky combined with a Stock photo of a mountain. I changed the perspective of the road slightly so it pointed towards the moon. Then I used the mountain with a subtract blending mode to fill in the resulting blank space. Lastly, I used a hue/saturation adjustment layer to match the coloring of all the elements to bring them together. This last image falls somewhere between the first two as a road to nowhere/the unknown.
