For this assignment, I thought of a character and quote from a comic book I like called Dawn by Joseph Michael Linsner. I started out with a blank canvas and used the Crop tool to grab a section of an image of the dawn from Adobe Stock. I then fit it to the canvas as the background. Then I used the Frame tool to create an area to import an image of the character Dawn by Linsner. After sizing and positioning the image, I used the Horizontal Type Mask tool to add the quote and other text. The text was then filled using gradients. Next, I added a hue/saturation adjustment layer to the frame to grey out most of the color. I removed parts of the mask to highlight Dawn’s identifying characteristics – her eye color, the tears on her cheek, and her hair.
